In Iran opposite what you might think there is a Arab-hating agenda among normal people, becasue they have very few contact with more progressive arab countries like Egypt and lebonan and they have an image of saudi, and khalij when they think of arabs and thats why they hate him. Anyways just wanted to say
George Galloway is my man too! but then I suddnly saw arash's post. I hate that government of iran too, but with the alternatives US is forcing on other countries of region Im sure we will come up with a better answer soon, and we dont need
a foreign country to force its own agenda on us... cheers bud.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10042412.post-1153716909074596382006-07-23T22:55:00.000-06:002006-07-23T22:55:00.000-06:00I understand your feelings about the way the relig...I understand your feelings about the way the religion is being applied in that culture. But I would say that ALL monotheistic religions degenerate into that kind of evil. How do you find Isreal's actions (which purport to be representing the Jewish faith) to be any better? Is it because the violence is against the group you are angry with. A child is a child. A mother is a mother, or father or brother. Do you think the evils (there is no other word) committed by Isreal will rectify the evils committed by Islam? They are ALL wrong. If you think so, you are living in a dream world.

And to keep this post on point, which is about Lebanon, from Robert Belcher

http://www.merip.org/mero/mero071806.html

But radical Islam is not the defining or unifying factor that links the south with the north: Hamas and Hizballah have different bones to pick with Israel. Hamas' struggle is against occupation, and more specifically, about how to achieve a mutual cessation of hostilities and formalize, in one way or another, its right to govern the territories of the Palestinian Authority as the Palestinians' elected government. Hizballah's goals in the current fighting are more limited: to secure the release of Lebanese and Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails while simultaneously flexing the movement's muscles to stave off pressure to disarm. By lumping together these different struggles, and tying them to Damascus and distant Tehran, Israeli casts resolvable political disagreements as unfathomable, irrational hatred, thereby justifying its broad and violent offensive.Blue Ibishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09515889184162816983noreply@blogger.com
