It is not so much about being for or against immigration, as it is about the psychopaths in government and business that jerk the strings of the situation as it suits them, for AND against.

You put your finger on it in your own post:

[....] they also believed they could use the indigenous, docile workers from Latin America as their indentured servants, there to support all manual labor and work “Northern European Americans” wouldn´t do."

I don't think immigrants take jobs away from the resident population, I believe they are actually the most hard working and industrious labor group we have. An orderly method of bringing these most valuable workers out of the shadows is paramount. I'm saying the situation is being played in such a way as to benefit the deviant few. Citizens and immigrants alike are being victimized each in their own way by the psychopathic social system we are living under. The economic desperation that has driven so many Mexicans and Latin Americans north has been created by these same deviants. It's not that people shouldn't be free to go wherever they feel they can make the most of their talents and abilities, but that they are forced to so, on the thinnest possibility that misery somewhere else is less than misery where they are.

Thanks so much for the comment.

Blue IbisBlue Ibishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09515889184162816983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10042412.post-21045148409602426692007-08-27T21:04:00.000-06:002007-08-27T21:04:00.000-06:00Blue, You are a little off base. Please study the Immigration Act of 1924. Ask yourself why Chinese, Eastern, Southern European immigration was severely reduced while the immigraiton from Latin American countries thrived. Ask yourself why Gompers was such an advocate of this bill. Ask yourself why the lobbyists, business and government were behind it. Once you understand the root cause and history of this issue, you see who is actually responsible for our current state.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immigration_Act_of_1924

We need Comprehensive immigration reform. Both sides discuss this civilly on my blog.
http://immigrationmexicanamerican.blogspot.com/Deehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09583438645860375661noreply@blogger.com
